Okay, the thing I really hate...let me back up, the ONE thing I hate about dA, is that there is no way to control the quality of what you see on the home page. I go looking for cool stuff to favorite, and nine times out of ten all I see is My Little Pony crap. What the heck? This is not a social community for artistically/conceptually challenged elementary school kids. I've been following several make-up artists via YouTube recently, and have not walked away uninspired to shamelessly copy their methods. I learned some new things about make-up that I did not previously know -- like how to make a zombie's face look all sunken in with holes. If you're interested in that, and even if you're not, I suggest taking a look at Promise Phan's stuff. She not only has some awesome tips about everyday make-up, but she transforms herself into tons of celebrities and characters from movies and video games. Seriously! As you might be able to tell, I've recently started using my digital camera to take pictures. This started mostly because being in an art class again has motivated me to actually make art. I got the idea to do my self portrait project via photography, and so I'm experimenting. I've never gotten into it before, so this is very new to me, and suggestions as to how to improve are most welcome! Unfortunately I won't be in an actual photography class until after this class is over, but oh well.
